Prizes

The winners in each of the two categories will receive a prize to the value of R25 000 each.

The R25 000 will be applied to a trip for each winner to attend an international fashion week or trade fair for the winter in 2009/2010 season. The prize money must be utilized to cover the flight, accommodation and daily expenses of this trip.

Condition for accepting the prize:

The aim of this prize is, firstly, for the winners to be exposed to how fashion is viewed in the global arena and how it is then reported in the international media and, secondly, for the winners to write or edit with a global perspective on their return to South Africa.

The winners should therefore still be employed as a fashion journalist/editor in
March 2008, or employed by the publication at the date of entry.

Sanlam will assist in co-ordinating the winner's travel arrangements. After the winners have been announced, Sanlam will liaise with the respective winners regarding their attendance at an international fashion week, or advise on alternative trade fairs.

Should the winner wish to arrange his/her own travel arrangements, then proof of
the trip, together with a confirmed airline booking, or letter from the winner's publisher confirming his/her trip, will be required before the prize money can be released.
