What is the aim of the Sanlam National Music Competition?
This event highlights musical talent in primary schools and encourages students to learn from competition experience on a national level.
- All primary school learners up to and including grade 7 may enter.
- Participants will compete in four categories: Piano, Strings, Woodwind and Brass and Other Instruments (harp, classical guitar, recorder, percussion).
- The entry fee of R100,00 is payable by crossed cheque or postal order made out to "SASMT Tygerberg" and is not refundable.

- Participants who qualify for the competition, which takes place from 22-26 September 2008 will be informed by 30 June 2008.
- The adjudicators' decision is final and will be announced after the completion of each round.
- Previous winners of the first prize may not re-enter the competition in the same category.
