Can I pay a credit card account from my Sanlam Liquid account?
Sanlam Liquid now offers 3 methods of payment to the following credit cards: ABSA, First National Bank, Standard Bank, Nedbank, American Express and Diners Club:
- Go to www.liquidcard.co.za and pay your credit card account. Cost per payment is R3.00
- Contact the Sanlam Liquid call centre on 0860 547 843 and arrange for payment. Cost per payment is R15.00
- Contact your credit card company, and arrange for a debit order against your Sanlam Liquid account. The cost for this debit order is R4.50.
Can I have my salary invested into my Sanlam Liquid account?
You can have your salary invested into your Sanlam Liquid account. Supply your Sanlam Liquid account number with the branch code 462005.

What is the published yield in the media?
The daily published yields are effective annual yields based on a seven-day rolling average yield. This is calculated as follows, as prescribed by The Association of Collective Investment Schemes:
The accrual in cents per unit for the previous seven days is converted into an average annual nominal yield and divided by the compounding factor to obtain a periodic effective rate. This figure is then converted to an annual effective rate.
What interest rate will I receive?
The SIM Money Market Fund is a collective investment scheme portfolio, that invests strategically in money market instruments with a maximum duration of one year, and an average duration to maturity of no longer than 3 months.
The interest on your Sanlam Liquid is based on the actual interest earnings of the SIM Money Market Fund.

Where may I use my debit card?
You may use your Sanlam Liquid debit card at any merchant displaying the Visa Electron sign or at any Saswitch ATM.

How do I do an electronic funds transfer (pay beneficiary) from my other bank accounts to my Sanlam Liquid account?
Create a beneficiary payment with the following details:
Beneficiary: Name of Sanlam Liquid account holder Account number: Sanlam Liquid account number Branch code: 462005 or Bidvest.
Where may I deposit cash and cheques?
Deposit cash and cheques at any ABSA branch with the following details:
Credit: Sanlam Liquid Account number: 4066968076 Branch code: 632005
Use your Sanlam Liquid account number as the reference number.
Please note: Cheques will have an 11 day clearance period, unless a special clearance was requested when the deposit was made. Successful special clearance cheques will be made available on the fourth day after the deposit was made. You will be liable for a fee when requesting special clearance on a cheque.
How long will I wait for my card?
Once your application form with supporting FICA documentation has been processed and your deposit received, your card will be ordered and dispatched, to reach you within 7 working days.
How is my card sent to me?
Your card will be delivered to you by courier. A representative of the courier company will contact you to arrange a suitable time and place for delivery.
How do I activate my card?
Once you have received your card and PIN, you will be required to phone the Sanlam Liquid Call Centre on 0860 LIQUID / 0860 547 843. After you have answered a number of security questions, your card will be activated.
Can I personalise my PIN?
The PIN is randomly generated and cannot be specified by the cardholder or changed once received. If you forget your PIN, a new card and PIN will have to be issued, at a fee.
Where can I draw cash?
You can draw cash locally at any Saswitch ATM. Cash can also be drawn at point-of-sale (POS) terminals at participating merchants. Your PIN will always be required. You can also draw cash at any Bidvest Bank Limited ATM.
Please note: It is much more cost effective for you to draw cash at a point-of-sale or a Bidvest Bank Limited ATM. Bidvest Bank Limited ATM's can be found at the following venues:

What if my card is lost or stolen (or the card's PIN is misplaced)?
Sanlam Liquid provides a 24-hour call centre service for lost and stolen cards.
You must immediately contact the Sanlam Liquid Call Centre on 0860 LIQUID / 0860 547 843, and report your card as stolen or lost. The Call Centre will immediately cancel your card and no further transactions will be allowed on the cancelled card.
Please note: You will be liable for all transactions prior to you reporting your card lost or stolen to the Sanlam Liquid Call Centre.
All cards reported damaged, lost or stolen (or misplaced PIN) will be cancelled and a new card and PIN will be issued at a fee, regardless of whether it is found thereafter. The new card and PIN will be delivered within approximately 7 working days.
Can I transact overseas?
Cash can be drawn at any international ATM and purchases may be made at international merchants displaying the VISA Electron logo.
How much interest will I earn?
You will earn current SIM Money Market Fund interest rates. Interest is calculated on your daily balance.

How do I raise a dispute with a point-of-sale or ATM transaction?
Please phone the Sanlam Liquid Call Centre on 0860 LIQUID / 0860 547 843 should the amount on your statement differ from your actual transaction. The Call Centre will supply a dispute form, which must be returned together with the actual slips and you may be called upon to provide an affidavit. Raising a false dispute is a serious offence and will result in a fee being raised. Over and above the fee raised by VISA and the bank, Sanlam Liquid will charge a fee of R150. The client will be liable for all fees.
How do I change my existing debit orders?
It is much simpler than most people think.
- Contact the company currently receiving debit order payments from you. Most companies have a client contact centre that will gladly assist you.
- Tell them you want to change your bank details. Some merchants require a written request, for example, an email request.
- You will need to provide them with the following:
- Identification, example your ID number
- Your Sanlam Liquid account number
- The branch code, which is 462005
- The bank, which is Bidvest Bank Limited.
