Why this competition?

Women are capable plan-makers, especially those on farms who help keep the farming business going with their innovative entrepreneurial activities. But regardless of their considerable contribution to wealth creation on the farm and the knock-on effect in job creation for the neighbouring communities, their work is not often lauded.

Sanlam, in conjunction with Landbouweekblad, are honouring these women for their extraordinary role in the welfare of the farming community. That's why we've put up prize money of R65 000 for the winner of the fourth entrepreneurs in agriculture competition for women. Finalists each receive R5000 and other prizes to the value of R2000.
