Glacier offers you access to a range of respected stockbrokers who will trade on your behalf, according to your mandate.
Investing via Glacier gives you the opportunity to combine a share portfolio with other investment options, such as an Endowment policy, Investment-Linked Life Annuity (ILLA), Retirement Annuity or Preservation Fund. This option would not be available to you by going direct to a stockbroker.
You can be actively involved in your investment, should you choose to be, and your specific preferences can be taken into account when compiling your portfolio. Even if you've entered into a discretionary mandate with your stockbroker, you can still have a say in what shares you'd like purchased on your behalf.
Although held for long-term growth, shares are liquid. They can be sold at any time, on a willing buyer/seller basis, subject to product rules. You can transfer the proceeds to collective investment funds or any other investments available through Glacier. Our reporting shows the number and value of shares held, on a daily basis.

Shares listed on the JSE Limited have generally outperformed inflation over the long term. In addition, the after-tax returns from the top 40 listed shares have outperformed bonds and cash over the long term.
