At Sanlam, we believe that being a Wealthsmith™ isn’t just about doing the best you can for yourself, it also means caring about what is best for others. That’s why we encourage our staff to get involved in the communities around us. This year, for our 100th birthday, we want to give our employees the gift of giving and the opportunity to make a difference.
We give our employees one full leave day a year to volunteer their time at a Blue Ladder School or charity of their choice.
Employees can contribute financially to our Blue Ladder Schools or charity of their choice, straight from their monthly salary.
Last July, we held a Mandela Day stationery drive where we encouraged staff to fill pencil cases with stationery items to donate to our Blue Ladder Schools. Our staff went above and beyond, challenging each other and other departments to donate as much as possible. We handed over a total of 2,030 pencil cases, putting a smile on so many children’s faces. Browse through some of the photographs from when we handed over the pencil cases.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all the stationery; the paper, books, pencils, erasers, rulers, glue, and colouring pencils. Your gifts really brought smiles to our children’s little faces. - Ms. D Cupido Principal, Bellville South Primary School

What drives us is that we do it for good. What unites us is that our work is never done. This is what connects us and this is what makes us Wealthsmiths™. If you are a Sanlam employee, apply to give back below.
