Statements included, for example, ‘I know what is expected of me at work’, ‘the mission/purpose of my business unit makes me feel like my work is important’, and ‘this past year I have had opportunities at work to learn and grow’.
Our employees’ overall level of engagement increased by 2% to 74% in 2018, which reflects high levels of motivation that can support our growth and performance.
Specific statements were also tested to provide insight into how our employees are responding to our EVP. The results indicate that we have made progress on the Growth, Reputation and Leadership pillars of our EVP, as scores on these pillars increased from the previous assessment in 2016.
Enhanced employee recognition will be a focus for the business in 2019.
