Hantuba is CEO of African Life Financial Services (Zambia) Ltd. With a BA in Economics, BAdmin and MBA from Stirling University, he holds numerous directorships in Zambia including that of Chairman of Lafarge Cement Zambia Plc and Director of American Corporation in the financial services division where he rose to the position of Head of Corporate Services.
He is a past chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia and the Economics Association of Zambia.
Mundashi is an eminent lawyer and holds other directorships, including Standard Chartered of which he is Non-executive Chairman.
He was the first non-executive chairman of the Revenue Appeals Tribunal and has worked on Zambian government teams to negotiate agreements with other countries. Mundashi is an expert in conveyancing, securities, corporate advice, insolvency, tax, labour law, debt recovery and general litigation, and has represented many companies, locally and abroad.
Kasonde-van den Broek is an organisational change architect and behaviour specialist.
Kasonde-van den Broek is a certified coach in organisation and relationship systems and is trained in coactive coaching. She is Regional Chair of the Africa Board for Coaching, Consulting and Coaching Psychology and is also a member of Lusaka Apex Medical University. She served on the Financial Sector Executive Coaching Advisory Board and is Founder and Chair of the Coaching Association of Zambia.
With 32 years’ experience, Bruce has worked in both Africa and Asia. He is a board member of Sanlam Uganda and Rwanda, and is Senior Executive: Distribution Support for the Sanlam Group in Cape Town, South Africa.
In Africa, he was General Manager for African Life Insurance, Chief Executive Officer for Sanlam in Uganda, and General Manager for the East Africa Regional based in Kenya. In Asia, he worked as Executive Director for Shriram Life (a member of the Sanlam Group) in India.
South African Director
Zaloumis served as Managing Director of Pam Golding Properties Zambia, a company she co-founded in 2008. Her experience enabled developers and investors to participate in market-driven, market-relevant property projects and also led Pam Golding Properties Zambia to become the leading real estate services company in the country.
Zaloumis also served as Managing Director of Two Rivers Development Limited from 2018 to 2019, a property development company in Nairobi, Kenya.
Hassam is Executive of Sanlam Emerging Markets South. Previously, he was Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited’s Group CEO. He joined them in 2003 as Group Finance Manager and Company Secretary and held several positions, including Head of Finance, COO, and Group Finance and Operations Officer before being appointed as CEO. He also worked for PWC as Audit Manager.
Hassam is an MBA graduate from Oxford Brookes and a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
Javangwe joined Sanlam Zambia as Executive: Business Development and Strategy Consultant in 2020 and was appointed as CEO in 2021. Previously, he was CEO of Zimnat Financial Services and Zimnat Life Group, as well as Managing Director of Zimnat Life Assurance Company. He’s worked for organisations like Intermarket Building Society, Standard Bank and British American Tobacco in diverse roles.
Javangwe is a qualified mechanical engineer and holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.

As part of the Sanlam Group’s Blue Ladder initiatives for empowering students through education, especially in disadvantaged communities, Sanlam Zambia activated the 2019 initiative with a Literacy Awareness Campaign to highlight the literacy levels in the country – statistics revealed that only 4 out of 10 kids in Zambia can read or write.
Sanlam Zambia conducted a Literacy Awareness Campaign with a newspaper insert that had headlines written out, but the copy was written in gibberish to demonstrate how frustrating it can be when you can’t read or write. The backdrop of the campaign included desk donations to 10 schools and the construction of a classroom block in Mpongwe, in the central part of Zambia.
Sanlam runs an Annual Summer School for Financial Journalists. In 2019, Joshua Jere from ZNBC (Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, Zambia’s national broadcaster) was selected to represent Zambia in Johannesburg, South Africa, with all expenses paid plus pocket given. This prestigious programme is a must-attend for journalists. The 2020 intake was held virtually due to COVID-19 and a young female journalist, Jesse Lundu, from Sun FM in Kitwe represented Zambia.
In commemorating the 2019 Women’s Day celebrations, Sanlam Zambia chose to donate maternity pads to women in the cancer ward at UTH – the University Teaching Hospital.
In celebrating 2019’s Africa Freedom Day, Sanlam Zambia developed an initiative that celebrated Africa’s music icons through An African Medley. The initiative partnered with celebrated Zambian and international musician and legend, Maureen Lilanda, in a Facebook Live concert. The event was timely as the novel COVID-19 pandemic had broken out and people were staying home. It brought timely entertainment and helped gain significant reach and grew the likes on Sanlam Zambia’s Facebook page.
At the peak of COVID-19, in May 2020, the Government of the Republic of Zambia called corporates to a multisectoral approach to fight the novel Coronavirus – COVID-19 – pandemic. Sanlam responded to the call and donated various items that included ICU beds to the 10 provinces, as well as gloves, masks and hand sanitiser. The donation was aimed at assisting the frontline staff in helping them to deal with the pandemic. In addition, Sanlam also sponsored free counselling to the staff to ease their mental stress.
