Sana-Ullah is the Group Executive: Human Capital of the Sanlam Group and was appointed on 01 January 2023. He is also responsible for Sanlam Facilities and Real Estate (SFRE) with effect from 01 July 2025.
He took up the position after holding other senior positions within the Sanlam Group from 2004. These positions included Company Secretary at Santam Limited for 7 years and thereafter Group Company Secretary at Sanlam for 11 years.
He previously practiced as an attorney as well as held the legal advisor positions at the Development Bank of Southern Africa and the Independent Development Trust.
He has also been an independent non-executive director of The Institute of Directors of South Africa since 2016. He currently chairs the Sanlam Ethics Committee for the Group. He is also a Council Member of the University of the Western Cape since 2024.
Mr Bray holds an LLB degree from the University of the Western Cape and an admitted attorney with right of appearance in the High Court. In 2024 he completed the Lead for Performance and Growth programme issued by Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning. He holds the designation of Chartered Director of South Africa and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
